At the time of writing this article, I’ve been within the Catholic Community of Waukesha for just under a week. One of the first tasks when being new is to try and learn names. In my first week, I would have to say unofficially, that the name that seems to be the most common is…. Mary.

Dear Catholic Community of Waukesha,
My name is Fr. Matthew Widder. Beginning on August 4th, I will be taking the place of Fr. Harry within the team of priests at St. John Neumann, St. William, St. Joseph, and St. Mary. Currently I’m the pastor of the Sheboygan North Catholic Parishes, Holy Name of Jesus, St. Clement, and St. Dominic. I’m incredibly grateful to the people of Sheboygan. We’ve had seven wonderful years together. Prior to my assignment in Sheboygan, I was the Associate Pastor at St. Mary in Hales Corners from May of 2010 following my ordination until June of 2013. St. Mary was the absolute perfect parish for me to begin learning about the fundamentals of being a priest.

In my second assignment as a priest I met a very religious lady, very attentive to the Word of God, she went to Mass every Sunday, without fail. At the end of mass, she always stayed talking to me about the homily. Several times I went to visit her house and I was very well received. During my days in that parish, this woman was very consistent with the Catholic Faith.As usual, I was changed from parish and did not know more about this woman until a few weeks ago.

My Name is Pedro Ruiz. I am a seminarian of Saint Francis de Sales Seminary, studying for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. I am in the third year of theology. Fr.
